Introducing Taster Tuesdays: highlighting the newest culinary destinations to answer that age old question, “where should I eat right now?” First on the list, Mezetto.
I’ve never been to a restaurant that truly captured the essence of the saying “peace in the Middle East” before now! Mezetto, an up and coming restaurant on the Lower East Side, has infused multiple Middle Eastern cultures into their tapas food, drinks and atmosphere. This young and vibrant restaurant is perfect for happy hour with friends, grabbing a bite at the bar or an intimate sit down dinner.
The bar is filled with a vast collection of alcohol and beer from the Mediterranean including Arak, Mythos, Goldstar, and Tanteo …. I was immediately transported back to my trip through Israel…and what could be better than that?
I highly encourage you to share the dishes at Mezetto, ensuring you experience the various Middle Eastern flavors on the extensive menu. We started off ordering the Mezetto Dips and grilled flatbread. The dips included hummus, spicy feta cheese and eggplant caviar. This sweet, savory and spicy combination had me licking the plate, literally! Next, we enjoyed falafel buns, grilled shrimp, ricotta croquettes, pistachio lamb meatballs, and truffled gnocchi.
As if I didn’t have room for ONE MORE DISH, the night ended with silan rose water creme brûlée, halva parfait and pear martini shots!
My favorites included the Mezetto dips, truffled gnocchi, falafel buns and silan rose water creme brûlée. The mouthwatering pics below indicate I will be back!
